La Tasca re-launch
Windsor was hit by a Spanish revolution on Aug 18th as the town hosted the launch of the first new concept La Tasca Spanish Tapas Bar & Kitchen in the country. To mark the launch, the town centre of Windsor was transformed into a spontaneous flamenco fiesta this morning, with more than twenty Spanish dancers bursting into a surprise routine outside Windsor castle. After 30 years the Round Tower is now once again open for tours
- book your tour at the entrance to the Castle or online, but there is an additional charge.
Windsor Football club All Set for new season
After having been put into administration they are now sorting out terms to re-form as Windsor FC in the 2011 season.
Pavement Clock
A much-loved Windsor landmark has returned with the installation of a specially-commissioned clock in the space in the pavement on Thames Street where the Dyson clock used to sit.
Windsor Wins Best Small Racecourse
It has been voted best small racecourse by The Racegoers Club South East Members. I totally agree personally with this assessment of Windsor Racecourse, I love the place and it is such a beautiful venue right on the river Thames. Racing starts again in April 2011.

Legoland Hotel gets the green light
The new 150 bed hotel has been given the go ahead and work will start on the 18 month project to have it ready for the 2012 Olympic games.
Windsor Museum Opens
After a 30 year wait the Windsor museum has at last been given the go-ahead. The museum opened spring 2011 and is based in the Windsor Guildhall.
Windsor is in a fight with the local Fire Authority which wants to reduce the cover of the local fire station from 24 hour cover to 8am to 8pm covered only. This is a continuing campaign and the local Fire Brigade Union representative, Mick Rowley, has vowed to continue the pressure to keep the fire station open 24 hours.
